He Said He Was A Beggar
Jesus Preaching

He said He was a Beggar,
A Shepherd and a King.
He said He was our Brother,
knew all and everything.

He said He was a Singer,
a Lamb, a cooing Dove.
He said He was Humility,
the circumference of our Love.
He said He was a Poet,
A Father and a Son.
He said He was the Savior,
the Sea, the Setting Sun -

He said He was a Spirit,
A great and flaming Star.
He said He was the Answer,
The Truth to what we are.
He said He'd give salvation,
to us all, yes, everyone,
And He worked His works of miracles
and died God's only Son.
And yet, so, often when they speak of Him,
of what He was,
and what He did,
Still some Did Not Believe.
