Purple

Purple Cloud

Purple saw the sky
Tears I had to cry
Wondered how I'd come
To block away the sun.

Seemed I'd always been
The whisper in the wind
The echo and the turn.
The ashes left to burn.
The paper and the hum.
Neither pen nor drum.
Always, always resemblance,
Stepping to another's dance.

Purple saw the sky
Tears I had to cry
Took its blue inside
Laid down my head and cried.
